Rocks, stones and bread oh my!

When we first got to our parking site we were told to watch out for mountain lions, bobcats, bears and rattlesnakes. It made me think of Lions, Tigers and Bears oh my. (Hence the title of this post) Rocks were everywhere we looked all over in Colorado. All shapes and sizes. “The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.” ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭18:2‬ ‭NIV‬‬ When I looked around in Colorado I couldn’t help but think of God, He is my rock, my salvation, my stronghold!

I also think of stones when I look at these big rocks because stones are fragments of rocks. When I look at these pictures in the future I will remember about the first time Jim experienced kidney stones while in Colorado. Thankfully he passed them quickly and didn’t experience pain for a long period of time. God is good and we continue to trust Him in our new adventure of serving Him in a different way. You are probably wondering where the bread fits in. Well for the last ten years I have been on and off a gluten free diet because of my stomach issues. When I have gone on this diet in the past the cross contamination wasn’t much of a problem. However, while in Colorado after being mostly gluten free for about a month, I was suddenly effected bad with cross contamination. I was working in the dining room in the Castle the first week and I got very bloated and sick feeling not even eating anything. I had picked up dishes from spaghetti and garlic bread. I decided God is trying to tell me its time to stay on the gluten diet and quit letting my intestines get so inflamed. “I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats this bread will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.” ‭‭John‬ ‭6:51‬ ‭NIV‬‬ I will focus on the living bread and not let the enemy try to discourage me because I can’t have the other bread. (Which I love, that has always been my downfall). About the lions, tigers and bears. Jim got to see a bear (oh my) and it was right by our camping area.

We didn’t see any mountain Lion, bobcat or rattle snake. But we felt the snake (the enemy) was trying to rob us of joy and peace while starting this new journey with the stones and bread issues the first week. We ended up realizing that He had us right where he wanted us and we needed to just go with the flow of the whole project and enjoy our time in this beautiful state and property of “The Navigators”, Glen Eyrie Conference Center, we called home for 3 weeks. Jim fixed some doors and built thresholds for the castle. Along with some odds and ends maintenance work. I worked in the dining room in the castle and did a little housekeeping in one of the lodges. We met some awesome couples that love the Lord and had some great fellowship. There was one couple that reminded Jim and I of my mom and dad. It was awesome to watch both of their mannerisms and have memories of my parents flash in front of us. Thank you Lord that you counted us faithful to serve you in Colorado. Your handiwork is beautiful! Now onto Iowa to our youngest son and his wife’s home so we can be there for another birth of a beautiful grand baby due on September 3rd. Keep praying for us and we thank you for following along with us on this new journey.

Serving Him, Cathy Fry (for Jim and Cathy)

Published by Jesus, take my baton!

Jim and Cathy Fry enjoy taking junk products and putting their own twist on them to come up with unique pieces. They have always spelled work “f-u-n” so you could say they are having fun coming up with “A Little This and That” for you to take home. They started this business in 2018 to help fund them in transition from a boys ranch ministry to an RV ministry. They are now living in an RV full time as of June 2019. They joined Sowers ministry and will be doing projects at different locations and also spending some good quality time with their kids and grandkids.
