God amazes us on this journey

”I will remember the deeds of the Lord; yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago. I will consider all your works and meditate on all your mighty deeds.” Your ways, God, are holy. What god is as great as our God? You are the God who performs miracles; you display your power among the peoples.“
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭77‬:‭11‬-‭14‬ ‭NIV‬‬

When I wrote this post

https://cathyfry.org/2019/07/04/beginning-our-journey/ back in 2019, I had no idea what God had in store for us. We had no idea how long we were going to be able to take this journey but here we are still on the journey and God is amazing.

Our Sower project back in December had us thinking about some of the boys we worked with over the years. We had the privilege to volunteer at Lighthouse Christian Camp in Smithville Tn. While there we helped with two Christmas Parties, one for about 400 girls and the other about 350 boys. It was so awesome to watch kids that might not have had any Christmas at all if it wasn’t for this ministry. They were able to take home a garbage bag of toys, clothes, etc. It was a lot of work preparing for it but so awesome to be a part of.

Putting together the candy bags that would be added to their bags.
Dan, Lana and I, Cathy helped put these decorations up.

A few weeks ago while driving to our December sower project in Tennessee, Jim says why don’t you try to find a contact for Ben. He was a boy we worked with at the boys ranch we worked at before we founded the ranch. He also was a boy at our ranch in Iowa for a few months. So I began the search. Four wrong phone calls and two hours later I got the right number. We talked a little and we were only going to be an hour and a half away from each other so we agreed we needed to get together. Our last Sunday on the project he drove down to visit us. It was a great time catching up and we are so thankful to visit after 30 years of not seeing him. He seems to be doing good and owns his own construction business. God is good!

Last year we were able to participate in 6 months of sower projects and spend some quality time with our kids and grandkids. We are blessed to be able to continue to live this life of traveling and serving our Lord that continued to take care of us being in ministry for almost 30 years of our married life. We took this last year off from doing crafts but we will be back to doing craft shows this fall to make some money so we can support our selves in continuing to serve in more sower projects. God is good and we will continue to trust in him to take care of us in this different type of ministry than what we knew for almost 30 years.

I’m terrible about keeping this blog posting up but hoping to go back and hit on some of our other projects I didn’t write about.

Until the next time, we will keep trusting, keep shining and keep serving our Lord.

Jim and Cathy Fry enjoy taking junk products and putting their own twist on them to come up with unique pieces. They have always spelled work “f-u-n” so you could say they are having fun coming up with “A Little This and That” for you to take home. They started this business in 2018 to help fund them in transition from a boys ranch ministry to an RV ministry. They are now living in an RV full time as of June 2019. They joined Sowers ministry and will be doing projects at different locations and also spending some good quality time with their kids and grandkids.
